• Store vial at –20°C prior to opening.
• Aliquot contents and freeze at –20°C or below for extended storage.
• Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge product if not clear after standing at room temperature.
• Stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
• Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity-purified antibody is directed against algal PCNA.
BLAST analysis suggests reactivity with PCNA from the following algae: Prorocentrum minimum, Tetraselmis chui, Pleurochrysis carterae, and Isochrysis galbana.
Partial reactivity may occur with PCNA from other algae as well as carrot, tobacco, peas, soybean, and rice based on protein sequence homology.
No positive results were observed for Pfiesteria piscicida, Emiliania huxleyi, Akashiwo sanguinea, Rhodomonas sp., Karlodinium micrum, and Skletonema costatum.
Reactivity with PCNA from other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen) is essential for DNA replication and is involved in DNA excision and mismatch repair pathways.
It binds to CDK inhibitor p21, endonucleases Fen1 and XPG, and DNA cytosine 5-methyltransferase (MCMT).
PCNA serves as a marker of proliferative cells and is useful for assessing tumor proliferation status.
It is expressed in the nucleus, acts as a homotrimer, and enhances the processivity of DNA polymerase delta during replication.
Upon DNA damage, PCNA is ubiquitinated and participates in the RAD6-dependent DNA repair pathway.
Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified, and pseudogenes exist on chromosome 4 and the X chromosome.
