Target Information
The CARD11 protein belongs to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, functioning as a molecular scaffold for multiprotein complex assembly at specialized plasma membrane regions. It is also part of the CARD protein family, characterized by the caspase-associated recruitment domain (CARD). CARD11 shares domain similarity with CARD14 and interacts specifically with BCL10, a positive regulator of cell apoptosis and NF-kappaB activation. Expression of CARD11 activates NF-kappaB and induces phosphorylation of BCL10.
