Target Information
Caspase 14는 세포자멸사(apoptosis) 과정에서 중심적인 역할을 하는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease(caspase) 계열 단백질을 암호화합니다.
비활성 전구효소 형태로 존재하며, 특정 아스파르트산 잔기에서 절단되어 활성 효소로 전환됩니다.
Caspase 8 및 Caspase 10에 의해 활성화될 수 있으며, Fas 항체 또는 TNF-related apoptosis-inducing ligand에 의해 in vivo에서도 유도됩니다.
이 단백질의 발현 및 처리 과정은 각질세포(keratinocyte)의 최종 분화와 피부 장벽 형성에 관여합니다.
