This antibody detects endogenous levels of RUNX2 only when phosphorylated at Ser275.


Target Information

RUNX2 is a nuclear protein and a member of the RUNX family of transcription factors with a Runt DNA-binding domain. It is essential for membranous and endochondral bone formation, regulating osteoblastic differentiation and skeletal morphogenesis. RUNX2 also acts as a scaffold for nucleic acids and regulatory factors involved in skeletal gene expression. It binds DNA both as a monomer and more strongly as part of a heterodimeric complex. RUNX2 plays a critical role in increasing TGFBR1 expression by osteoblasts and cooperates with DLX5 or related factors to activate osteoblast-specific gene expression. Mutations in RUNX2 can cause bone development disorders such as cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD).
