Product Specific Information

Target Information
Transcription of protein-coding genes can occur on naked DNA with general transcription factors and RNA polymerase II. However, chromatin-packaged DNA requires accessory factors for transcription. One such factor, FACT, interacts with histones H2A/H2B to promote nucleosome disassembly and transcription elongation. FACT consists of two subunits: an 80 kDa and a 140 kDa subunit. This gene encodes the 140 kDa subunit.
