Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

Target Information

Cas9 is an RNA-guided DNA endonuclease enzyme associated with the CRISPR (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats) adaptive immunity system in bacteria and genetic engineering. It enables precise genome editing by inducing indel mutations, sequence insertions/replacements, or large deletions.
Cas9 variants include:

• SpCas9 (Streptococcus pyogenes)
• SaCas9 (Staphylococcus aureus)

SaCas9 offers advantages such as smaller size, high efficiency, and specificity. It recognizes NNGRRT PAM sequences and performs DNA cleavage with spacer lengths of 20–24 nucleotides, making it suitable for compact vector systems such as AAV delivery.
