Target Information
The MAGEB1 gene belongs to the MAGEB gene family. Members of this family have coding sequences located in the last exon and share 50–68% sequence identity. Variability in promoters and first exons suggests functional expression under different transcriptional controls.
This gene is localized in the DSS (dosage-sensitive sex reversal) critical region and is expressed in testis and various tumor types. MAGEB genes are clustered on chromosome Xp22-p21. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified, though some full-length variants are not yet defined.
