Calponin 2 단백질은 actin, calmodulin, troponin C, tropomyosin과 결합할 수 있으며, actin 필라멘트의 구조적 조직화에 관여할 수 있습니다. 또한 평활근 수축 및 세포 부착에 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다. 이 유전자는 서로 다른 isoform을 인코딩하는 두 가지 전사 변형을 포함합니다.
