This antibody detects endogenous levels of ERK1/2 only when phosphorylated at Thr202+Tyr204/Thr185+Tyr187.
Target Information
ERK1 and ERK2 are widely expressed kinases involved in the regulation of meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic cellular functions. They are activated by various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, viral infection, and G protein-coupled receptor ligands. Upon activation through the Ras–Raf–MEK–ERK signaling cascade, ERKs phosphorylate cytoplasmic targets or translocate to the nucleus to activate transcription factors including c-Fos and Elk-1.
