Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on nearly all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 serves as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for the B cell receptor (BCR) and can also signal independently. It plays a central role in regulating B cell activation and proliferation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression may cause B cell hyperactivity.
