Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) function to conjugate reduced glutathione to many exogenous and endogenous hydrophobic electrophiles.
GDAP1 (ganglioside-induced differentiation-associated protein 1) is a GST-like protein containing an extended GST domain II and a predicted transmembrane domain, both uncommon features for GST family members.
GDAP1 may function in signal transduction pathways responsible for ganglioside-induced neurite differentiation and may protect myelin membranes from free-radical damage.
Mutations in GDAP1 are associated with various forms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an inherited peripheral nervous system disorder characterized by reduced nerve conduction velocities, progressive distal muscle atrophy, and absent deep tendon reflexes.
