Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human ABCB6 protein. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with ABCB6 protein from human and dog based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Partial reactivity is expected with ABCB6 from mouse and rat sources (~93% homology). Reactivity with other species is unknown.

The membrane-associated protein encoded by this gene belongs to the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily.
ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intra-cellular membranes and are divided into seven subfamilies.
ABCB6 is a member of the MDR/TAP subfamily, involved in multidrug resistance and antigen presentation.
This half-transporter is implicated in mitochondrial function and is localized to chromosome 2q26.
It is considered a candidate gene for lethal neonatal metabolic syndrome, a mitochondrial disorder.
