Product Specific Information

MA5-14336 targets Cyclin E in FACS, IF, IHC (P), and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human and Mouse samples.
The MA5-14336 immunogen is recombinant human cyclin E protein.

Target Information

Cyclin E belongs to the highly conserved cyclin family, characterized by a periodic fluctuation in protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins act as regulators of CDK kinases, and different cyclins exhibit unique expression and degradation patterns that coordinate mitotic events.
Cyclin E forms a complex with CDK2, regulating the G1/S transition. It accumulates at the G1–S phase boundary and is degraded during S phase. Overexpression of Cyclin E has been observed in many tumors, contributing to chromosomal instability and tumorigenesis.
Cyclin E also associates with NPAT protein, which is involved in cell-cycle–regulated histone gene expression and promotes cell-cycle progression in the absence of pRB. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified, with two additional splice variants reported but not fully characterized.
