Antibody detects endogenous levels of total CADM1.
Target Information
CADM1 mediates homophilic cell-cell adhesion in a Ca²⁺-independent manner and heterophilic adhesion with CADM3 and PVRL3. Acts as a tumor suppressor in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. Interaction with CRTAM promotes NK cell cytotoxicity and IFN-γ secretion by CD8⁺ cells, contributing to tumor rejection. In mast cells, CADM1 facilitates communication with nerves and is essential for mast cell development and survival with MITF. It may also function as a synaptic adhesion molecule involved in neuronal migration, axon growth, and spermatogenesis through adhesion to Sertoli cells.
