Target Information
CROT 유전자는 carnitine/choline acetyltransferase 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. 해당 단백질은 4,8-dimethylnonanoyl-CoA를 대응하는 carnitine ester로 전환하며, 이 반응은 peroxisome 내에서 일어납니다. 이는 중·장쇄 acyl-CoA 분자를 peroxisome에서 세포질 및 미토콘드리아로 운반하는 데 필요하며, 지질 대사 및 지방산 β-산화 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 대체 스플라이싱된 전사체 변이체가 보고되었습니다.
