Target Information
DENND5A (DENN domain-containing protein 5A) is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates RAB6A and RAB39A/RAB39B. It facilitates GDP-GTP exchange, converting inactive GDP-bound Rab proteins to active GTP-bound forms. DENND5A is implicated in negative regulation of neurite outgrowth. Mutations in DENND5A can cause epileptic encephalopathy, early infantile 49 (EIEE49).
