Target Information

DNA replication, recombination, and repair processes essential for genomic stability require exonucleases. During replication, exonucleases process Okazaki fragments, while in repair they excise damaged DNA and correct mismatches. These functions involve DNA polymerase families (alpha, beta, delta, epsilon). DNA polymerase delta and epsilon are multisubunit enzymes interacting with PCNA. DNA polymerase delta 3 (POLD3, p66) is a 466 amino acid nuclear protein crucial for DNA polymerase delta function.
