Target Information
SIRT5는 Sirtuin(Sir2-like protein) 계열에 속하는 인간 단백질로, 원핵생물과 진핵생물 모두에 존재합니다. 모든 Sir2-like 단백질은 세균부터 인간에 이르기까지 보존된 시퀀스 모티프를 포함하는 sirtuin core 도메인을 가지고 있습니다. Sirtuin은 NAD를 대사하며, mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase 활성을 가질 가능성이 있습니다. 효소 기능은 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았으나, 최근 연구에서는 Sir2가 NAD 대사 및 히스톤 탈아세틸화에 관여하는 상호 활성화 기작이 제안되었습니다.
