Target Information

NTRK1 (TRKA) is a member of the neurotrophic factor family essential for mammalian nervous system development and maintenance. TrkA is a membrane-bound receptor that, upon neurotrophin binding, phosphorylates itself and MAPK pathway members, leading to cell differentiation. Mutations in TrkA are associated with congenital insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis, self-mutilating behavior, mental retardation, and cancer.
