Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody 2G7 reacts with CD84, a transmembrane protein of the Ig SLAM superfamily. CD84 is expressed on mature B cells, a subset of T cells (mainly CD4+CD45RA+), monocytes, and platelets. It is also found on a portion of human hematopoietic progenitor (CD34+) cells. Signaling through CD84 via homotypic interactions involves phosphorylation and recruitment of SAP and EAT-2, leading to IFNγ production and T cell activation.

Applications Tested:
This antibody has been tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. It can be used at ≤0.25 µg per test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell number per test may vary from 10⁵ to 10⁸ and should be optimized empirically. Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD84 is expressed on mature B cells and pre-B cell lines, but not on plasma cell lines. It is strongly expressed on tissue macrophages and highly expressed on platelets, with low expression on peripheral blood T cells. CD84 is a highly glycosylated member of the immunoglobulin superfamily and may play a role in leukocyte activation.
