Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family.
PTPs regulate various cellular processes such as cell growth, differentiation, mitotic cycle, and oncogenic transformation.
This PTP contains an N-terminal noncatalytic domain similar to that of the band 4.1 superfamily cytoskeleton-associated proteins, suggesting membrane or cytoskeleton localization.
The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined.
