Target Information

Steroid and thyroid hormones and retinoic acid regulate gene expression via nuclear receptor transcription factors. Coactivators and corepressors modulate transcription activity of these receptors.
Glucocorticoid receptor interacting protein-1 (GRIP1), also known as Transcription Intermediary Factor 2 (TIF2), is part of a coactivator family including SRC-1 and AIB-1.
GRIP1 interacts with and enhances transcriptional activity of receptors for retinoic acid, retinoid X, vitamin D, mineralocorticoid, glucocorticoid, thyroid hormone, androgen, estrogen, progesterone, and PPAR.
It contains multiple LXXLL/LLXXL motifs crucial for receptor–coactivator interactions.
