Target Information
Palladin is a cytoskeletal protein required for the organization of the normal actin cytoskeleton. It plays essential roles in cell morphology, motility, adhesion, and interactions with the extracellular matrix. Palladin functions as a scaffolding molecule, influencing both actin polymerization and the assembly of actin filaments into higher-order structures. It binds to proteins associated with monomeric or filamentous actin and localizes to regions of active actin remodeling such as lamellipodia and membrane ruffles. Different isoforms of Palladin may have distinct functional roles and are involved in morphological and cytoskeletal changes during dendritic cell maturation.
