Target Information

The PNMA3 gene encodes a protein belonging to the paraneoplastic antigen MA (PNMA) family, sharing homology with retroviral Gag proteins. PNMA antigens are highly expressed in the brain and in various tumors associated with neurological phenotypes.
Reports suggest the presence of a functional -1 ribosomal frameshift signal in this gene, though the frame-shifted product has not been characterized. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
