Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
The BTRC gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by the F-box motif (~40 amino acids).
F-box proteins are part of the SCF (SKP1–Cullin–F-box) ubiquitin ligase complex, which mediates phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are classified into three groups:
- Fbws: Contain WD-40 domains
- Fbls: Contain leucine-rich repeats
- Fbxs: Contain other interaction motifs or none
The BTRC protein belongs to the Fbws class, containing both an F-box and multiple WD-40 repeats. It is homologous to Xenopus bTrCP1, yeast Met30, Neurospora Scon2, and Drosophila Slimb proteins.
BTRC interacts with HIV-1 Vpu, linking CD4 to the proteolytic machinery, and associates with phosphorylated IκBα and β-catenin destruction motifs. It is involved in multiple transcriptional programs, activating the NF-κB pathway while inhibiting the β-catenin pathway.
