This affinity purified antibody is directed against the VSV-G epitope tag and is useful for detecting its presence in overexpressed proteins in various assays.
It recognizes the VSV-G epitope tag (Tyr-Thr-Asp-Ile-Glu-Met-Asn-Arg-Leu-Gly-Lys) fused to either the amino- or carboxy-termini of targeted proteins in transfected or transformed cells.

Vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) is an enveloped RNA virus from the Rhabdoviridae family, released from host cells via budding.
The glycoprotein (VSV G) contains a domain in its extracellular membrane-proximal stem required for efficient budding.
