Target Information
ZFYVE19 is a key regulator of the abscission step in cytokinesis. It functions as part of the cytokinesis checkpoint, preventing premature separation of daughter cells and accumulation of DNA damage. Together with CHMP4C, it retains abscission-competent VPS4 (VPS4A and/or VPS4B) at the midbody ring until checkpoint signaling concludes. Deactivation of AURKB leads to CHMP4C dephosphorylation, its dissociation from ZFYVE19/ANCHR and VPS4, and subsequent abscission.
