Target Information
The human alanyl-tRNA synthetase (AARS) belongs to a family of tRNA synthases, class II enzymes that are highly conserved across species.
These enzymes interpret the RNA code and attach specific amino acids to the corresponding tRNAs.
They consist of a catalytic domain interacting with the amino acid acceptor-TψC helix of the tRNA and a secondary domain interacting with the rest of the tRNA structure.
