MAPK1 (ERK2)는 serine/threonine kinase로, p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, Stat3 등의 활성화에 관여하며 MAPK 경로의 핵심 구성 요소입니다.
ERK는 다양한 생화학적 신호를 통합하는 역할을 하며, 세포 증식, 분화, 전사 조절, 발달 등 여러 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
활성화는 상위 kinase에 의한 인산화에 의해 이루어지며, 활성화된 kinase는 핵으로 이동하여 핵 내 표적 단백질을 인산화합니다.
