The antibody detects endogenous levels of total MIDN protein.
Target Information
Expression of the midnolin gene is developmentally regulated: it is strongly expressed in the mesencephalon (midbrain) of the embryo at day 12.5 (E12.5) in mice. The midnolin gene encodes a protein of 508 amino acids containing a ubiquitin-like domain. Intracellular localization studies using midnolin-GFP fusion proteins show that midnolin is localized in the nucleus and nucleolus, but not in the cytoplasm. The nucleolar localization signal is a 28 amino acid peptide located at the C-terminal region of midnolin. It may be involved in the regulation of genes related to neurogenesis in the nucleolus.
