Mouse anti-Human CD151 antibody, clone 11G5a recognizes the human CD151 cell surface antigen (PETA-3).
CD151 is expressed by epithelial cells, endothelial cells, platelets, megakaryocytes, monocytes, and in the renal glomeruli and proximal/distal tubules.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the transmembrane 4 superfamily (tetraspanin family).
Members are cell-surface proteins with four hydrophobic domains, mediating signal transduction events involved in cell development, activation, growth, and motility.
This cell surface glycoprotein complexes with integrins and other tetraspanin proteins, influencing cell adhesion and integrin trafficking or function.
It enhances cell motility, invasion, and metastasis of cancer cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encode the same protein.
