DUSP4는 dual specificity protein phosphatase 계열에 속하는 단백질로, phosphoserine/threonine 및 phosphotyrosine 잔기를 탈인산화하여 표적 키나아제를 불활성화합니다. 이 효소들은 MAP kinase 계열(MAPK/ERK, SAPK/JNK, p38)의 활성을 음성 조절하며, 세포 증식과 분화에 관여합니다. DUSP4는 ERK1, ERK2, JNK를 불활성화하고 다양한 조직에서 발현되며 주로 핵에 위치합니다.
