Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
NEK9, a NEK-type protein kinase, regulates chromosome alignment and segregation during mitosis. It contains:
- An N-terminal NIMA-like catalytic domain
- A central RCC1-like domain with guanine nucleotide exchange factor homology
- A C-terminal coiled-coil domain
It is phosphorylated by active p34(Cdc2), capable of autophosphorylation and oligomerization, and interacts with Nek6, RCC1, and Bicd2. NEK9 expression is observed in normal human brain and several tissues, including bone, lymph, thymus, and various cancerous tissues (cervix, eye, lymph, placenta).
