Target Information

Paxillin is a focal adhesion protein and a substrate for several tyrosine kinases such as Src, FAK, and p210BRC/ABL. Its tyrosine phosphorylation is influenced by changes in cell-cell adhesion. Paxillin interacts strongly with FAK and Crk through its SH2 domain, independent of the extracellular matrix. Although initially identified in fibroblasts, paxillin phosphorylation also plays a role in neurite extension during differentiation.
