Target Information
EEF2 catalyzes the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation. This process transitions the ribosome from the pre-translocational (PRE) to the post-translocational (POST) state, moving the A-site-bound peptidyl-tRNA and P-site-bound deacylated tRNA to the P and E sites, respectively. It facilitates the coordinated movement of tRNA molecules, mRNA, and conformational changes in the ribosome.
