Product Specific Information

The 9D1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD150, a ~70 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein also known as Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule (SLAM).
CD150 is expressed by T (especially TH1) and B cells and is rapidly upregulated upon activation. Immature thymocytes and dendritic cells also express this antigen.
Signaling through SLAM induces T-cell proliferation and enhances interferon-gamma response. SLAM also mediates adhesion between T cells and antigen-presenting cells.

Mouse hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) can be identified using SLAM family markers such as CD150⁺CD244⁻CD48⁻. For this application, antibody clone mShad150 is recommended (Product #12-1502).

Target Information

CD150 (SLAM, Signaling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule) belongs to the immunoglobulin gene superfamily and is involved in T cell stimulation.
It is expressed on memory T cells, thymocytes, and subsets of B cells, and is rapidly induced on naïve T cells after activation.
Activated B cells express membrane-bound, soluble, and cytoplasmic isoforms of SLAM.
SLAM-SLAM interactions enhance B cell expansion and differentiation.
The extracellular domain of CD150 serves as a receptor for measles virus and acts as a co-activator for T and B cells.
Interactions occur with SH2D1A and PTPN11 via the cytoplasmic domain.
Mutations in the CD150 gene may be associated with X-linked lymphoproliferative disease (XLP).
