Product Specific Information
The SHLR17 monoclonal antibody reacts with human interleukin (IL)-17F, a homodimeric 34 kDa member of the IL-17 family. IL-17F and IL-17A are produced by Th17 cells and have overlapping but distinct functions.
IL-17F binds to IL-17RA/IL-17RC heterodimer receptors, inducing secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines and recruiting neutrophils.
Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and validated using the Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00).
A test is defined as the antibody amount that stains a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Recommended cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
Brilliant Violet™ 421 (BV421) emits at 423 nm and is suitable for cytometers equipped with a violet (405 nm) laser.
For panels using multiple polymer dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401-42) or Brilliant Stain Buffer™ (Product # 00-4409-75).

Target Information
IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils. It plays a role in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in various cell types.
IL-17F acts through IL-17R to recruit monocytes and neutrophils, stimulating TNFα, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 production. It is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
IL-17F is produced as a homodimer and may form heterodimers with IL-17A. It inhibits angiogenesis and induces endothelial cells to produce IL-2, TGF-β, and MCP-1.
