This phospho-specific polyclonal antibody is specific for phosphorylated pS276 human p65. Reactivity with non-phosphorylated p65 is minimal. Cross-reactivity with pS276 phosphorylated p65 from mouse, rat, or other species has not been determined.

Target Information

Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms part of the NF-kB complex by heterodimerizing with p50 or p52 subunits.
Upon TNF-α binding to its receptor, IKK is phosphorylated, which subsequently phosphorylates IκB, leading to its proteasomal degradation. NF-kB p65 plays a key role in transcriptional regulation of the immunoglobulin κ gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
