Product Specific Information
Reconstitution: Add 50 µL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature and should be stored at -20°C upon arrival.
The reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer periods, store small aliquots at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
CACNA1C encodes an alpha-1 subunit of a voltage-dependent calcium channel. These channels mediate calcium ion influx upon membrane polarization.
The alpha-1 subunit consists of 24 transmembrane segments forming the ion passage pore.
The calcium channel complex includes alpha-1, alpha-2/delta, beta, and gamma subunits in a 1:1:1:1 ratio.
Multiple isoforms exist due to different genes or alternative splicing.
The protein encoded by CACNA1C binds to and is inhibited by dihydropyridine.
Alternative splicing generates numerous transcript variants encoding distinct proteins.
