Description:
The eBioGoH3 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and human CD49f (Integrin α6), also known as VLA-6 α chain and platelet gpIc. CD49f is a 120 kD transmembrane protein that associates with CD29 (Integrin β1) to form VLA-6, or with CD104 (Integrin β4) to form α6β4 complex. It is expressed on T cells, monocytes, platelets, epithelial and endothelial cells, and germinal center B cells. The antibody cross-reacts with human, mouse, and bovine integrin α6 and can block α6 binding to laminin.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Validated by flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 1×10⁵–1×10⁸ cells/test. Optimize titration for best performance.

Light Sensitivity:
PE-Cyanine7 tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.

Fixation:
Samples may be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:

Target Information

CD49f (Integrin α6, ITGA6) encodes the integrin α6 subunit, which pairs with β4 (forming TSP180) or β1 (forming VLA-6). Integrins are transmembrane receptors mediating cell adhesion and signaling with the extracellular matrix (ECM). They influence cell shape, mobility, proliferation, and cytoskeletal organization. CD49f is mainly expressed in epithelial cells and contributes structurally to hemidesmosomes. Over 18 α and 8 β subunits with multiple isoforms exist in mammals. Some integrins also bind soluble ligands or counter-receptors such as ICAMs, facilitating cell aggregation.
