Description:
97 monoclonal antibody was generated against a human c-Met-Ig fusion protein and reacts with human c-Met (HGFR)-transfected cells. Human c-Met is a 145 kDa receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) expressed by epithelial cells of the brain, kidney, liver, and other tissues. Binding of its ligand, Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF), triggers receptor autophosphorylation and activation of downstream effectors such as ERK-1, ERK-2, and PLCγ. Activation of the c-Met signaling pathway leads to cellular responses including motility, proliferation, survival, and angiogenesis. Mutations in c-Met have been implicated in various malignancies.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of human c-Met-transfected cells. Recommended ≤1 µg per test (in 100 µL final volume). Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.
Target Information
MET (c-Met):
A receptor-like tyrosine kinase associated with multiple human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3K subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, activating signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC. MET is involved in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, kidney development) and adult processes including wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling. Dysregulation of MET is linked to cancers such as gastric, renal, and breast cancer, making it a key target for cancer research and diagnostics.
