Mouse anti-Bovine CD45 antibody, clone CC1 recognizes the bovine homologue of the human CD45 antigen, also known as leucocyte common antigen (LCA). It is a pan-leucocyte surface marker expressed on all cells of hematopoietic origin except erythrocytes (Bembridge et al., 1993).
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising about 10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. It is absent in non-hematopoietic cells and tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein is essential for lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45RA, one isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes. Isoforms differ in membrane localization and expression depending on cell type and state.
CD45 regulates T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases, and modulates integrin-mediated pathways, apoptosis, and various immunological functions.
