Mouse anti-Rabbit CD45 antibody, clone L12/201, recognizes the CD45 antigen, also known as leukocyte common antigen (LCA) or T200.
Target Information
CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes.
It is absent on non-hematopoietic cell lines and tissues.
CD45 glycoprotein plays a crucial role in lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, regulating Src-family kinases.
Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains.
CD45RA, one isoform, shows restricted expression among lymphoid cell subtypes.
Isoform expression varies with cell type and physiological state, influencing membrane domain localization.
CD45 is essential for T- and B-cell receptor signaling, suppresses JAK kinases in cytokine signaling, and modulates integrin-mediated pathways and apoptosis-related functions.
