BMP15 (GDF9B)는 bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) 계열의 구성원으로, transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) 슈퍼패밀리에 속합니다.
이 단백질은 배아 발달 및 성체 조직 항상성 유지에 관여하며, 오시트에서만 발현됩니다.
BMP15는 오시트 특이적 성장/분화 인자로, 오시트 성숙 및 난포 발달에 관여합니다.
BMP15 결함은 ovarian dysgenesis type 2의 원인이 될 수 있으며, 오시트 유사 세포로 분화하는 인간 양수 줄기세포의 추적 마커로 활용될 수 있습니다.
