Description:
The MEM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD14, a 53–55 kDa GPI-linked glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, interfollicular macrophages, and some dendritic cells. Complexes of LPS and LBP (LPS-Binding Protein) bind with high affinity to monocytes through surface CD14.
Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Pre-diluted and tested for flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended usage: 4 µL (0.6 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Important Notes:
- NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
- Use Invitrogen™ LIVE/DEAD™ Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability analysis.
- Each NovaFluor conjugate or kit is shipped with CellBlox™ Blocking Buffer.
- Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails or single-color controls (10³–10⁸ cells).
- Mix CellBlox Blocking Buffer with antibody cocktails before adding to cells.

Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils.
It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms.
Soluble CD14 (sCD14) can distinguish structural differences in lipopolysaccharides and contributes to immune modulation.
CD14 also binds apoptotic cells and is involved in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes.
Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform.
Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and croup.
