• Percent identity with other species by BLAST analysis:
  Human, Gorilla, Gibbon, Monkey, Bovine (100%); Mouse, Dog, Hamster, Elephant, Panda (94%); Marmoset (89%); Opossum (83%).
• For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer.
  After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were treated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

Target Information

Adgrb1 (also known as BAI1) is a phosphatidylserine receptor that enhances the engulfment of apoptotic cells and likely acts as a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis in the brain. It may function in cell adhesion and signal transduction, playing a role as a mediator of the p53 signal in suppression of glioblastoma.

Angiogenesis is regulated by a balance between stimulators and inhibitors of new vessel growth and is essential for tumor growth and metastasis. Adgrb1 contains a functional p53-binding site and is transcriptionally regulated by wild-type p53. It belongs to the secretin receptor family and functions as an angiogenesis inhibitor and tumor growth suppressor. Diseases associated with ADGRB1 include glioblastoma.
