Target Information

The human ASH2L gene encodes a 628 amino acid protein known as ASH2L1 (isoform 1), containing a nuclear localization signal and PHD finger motif, suggesting its role as a transcription regulator.
Predicted molecular weight: 68.7 kDa.
Alternative splicing may result in isoforms at 60 kDa and 56.5 kDa.

Human ASH2L shares 60% homology with Drosophila ash2, which regulates gene expression during early development, and 90% homology with mouse ASH2L.
ASH2L is predominantly expressed in adult heart, testis, and fetal lung and liver, with low expression in adult lung, liver, kidney, prostate, and peripheral leukocytes.
It is also expressed in leukemia cell lines (K562, Hel, Dami) with erythroid and megakaryocytic potential.
Differentiation inducers such as phorbol ester and hemin alter ASH2L expression patterns, indicating its involvement in hematopoiesis and leukemia.
Additionally, ASH2L has been reported to interact with beta-tubulin and beta-catenin.
