This DS8RELM monoclonal antibody recognizes mouse RELM alpha (FIZZ1) and does not cross-react with mouse RELM gamma.
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis. Tested using resident peritoneal macrophages and the Intracellular Fixation & Permeabilization Buffer Set (Product # 88-8824-00).

Recommended usage ≤ 0.5 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (empirical optimization required).

Target Information

RELM alpha (Resistin-like alpha, FIZZ1) is a small cytokine (88 amino acids, MW 9.4 kDa) mainly produced by macrophages. Highly expressed in peritoneal, alveolar, and adipose tissue macrophages; strongly induced by IL-4 and IL-13.
Serves as a hallmark of M2 macrophage polarization (with Arginase 1 and Ym-1). Not expressed in IL-10–polarized M2c macrophages.
Elevated RELM alpha levels may indicate parasitic infection.
Humans lack RELM alpha gene; human Resistin shows functional similarity.
Other mouse RELM family members: RELM beta, RELM gamma, and Resistin — each with distinct tissue distribution and functions.
RELM alpha plays key roles in parasite infection, mucosal inflammation, and allergy.
