Target Information

Cytoplasmic dyneins are large enzyme complexes (~1,200 kD) containing two force-producing heads formed primarily from dynein heavy chains, and stalks linking the heads to a basal domain with accessory intermediate chains. The complex is involved in intracellular transport and motility. DYNLL1 is a light chain component of this complex and interacts with neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS), inhibiting its activity by destabilizing the dimeric form necessary for function. This interaction suggests DYNLL1 may regulate multiple biological processes through modulation of nitric oxide synthase activity.
