Target Information
SIRT5는 Sirtuin(Sir2-like) 단백질 계열에 속하는 인간 단백질로, 원핵생물과 진핵생물 모두에서 발견됩니다. 모든 Sir2-like 단백질은 세균부터 인간까지 보존된 일련의 서열 모티프를 포함하는 sirtuin core domain을 가지고 있습니다. 세균, 효모 및 포유류의 sirtuin은 NAD를 대사할 수 있으며, mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase로 작용할 가능성이 있습니다. 이 효소의 기능은 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았지만, Sir2에 의한 NAD 대사 및 histone 탈아세틸화가 상호 활성화 메커니즘을 통해 연결되어 있을 가능성이 제시되고 있습니다.
